    4 lb. Sledge hammer.

Good for thumping tires. Good for driving in sticky tandem pins. Good for crushing rib cages.

"No, officer, it's a tire thumper".

I heard, many years ago, from an unreliable source, (Super Trucker at a 76 lunch counter), that AS LONG AS IT DOESN'T HAVE A LANYARD, it is not considered a "billy club". 20201119_171540.jpg

This one is mine. Got it at Love's. Took the lanyard off because it kept catching on the fire extinguisher handle:eek:

I've been back at trucking for 2.5 years, after a break to raise my family. Two things happened concerning this tool that made me realize much has changed.....

When I bought it, the girl at Love's asked me, "Am I selling you a weapon?"

    "No, it's for checking tires".

"Well, if you hit someone with it, I want you to send me a picture."

    "Uhhhhh.......sure?"

And then I was pre-tripping my truck in the yard, and one of the older guys who has been with just THIS company 11 years, drives up to me....

    "What are you doing?"

    "Checking the tires".
    He starts laughing out loud.

"Checking WHAT? To see if they're made of rubber? HAHAHAHAHA....."

I couldn't BELIEVE what I was hearing. I said, "Yeah, Rick, why dontcha lean a little further out the window and I'll see if your HEAD is made of rubber!"

He sped off in his pickup, thinking I was gonna hit him.

In the time I've been back, I have yet to see anyone at our terminal do a pre/post trip. Ditto pulling into the truck stops at night; pull the paddles and grab your headset and shower bag.
In the morning, jump outta the sleeper, put on your headset, push the paddles in, and get goin'.

There is much I do not understand. Please excuse the long post.

If you carry a Louisville Slugger in your truck ALSO carry a bat and Ball in the same area, your lawyer will thank you later, you just keep at ball and bat for hitting practice, otherwise it could be considered premeditated
