his is the video that I showed my niece. The woman in the video is aware of danger. Before you can see her on camera, she knew the guy was trouble. What do you call a person that has intel, but are unable to use that intel for their benefit?

    “But Six, she was afraid.”

I’d rather be afraid across the street. You don’t voluntarily corner yourself.

I've mentioned it here before. Couple years ago I had a crackhead try and creep up on me. Knew he was there. Put 4 lanes of traffic between him and I. Problem solved. I was walking that way anyways.

You won't be sparring a partner in class. While your two hands are busy grappling, your assailant will be rabbit stabbing your organs. Rules don't apply.

    Situations determine my kit.

Walkaround inspection in darkness. Hammer in hand. 1600 lumen blinding flashlight in the other. Daytime. Go mace/pepper spray in hand instead of flashlight.

Gloves. Too many blood borne pathogens and junkies out there to go bareknuckle fists with someone. Yes, a guy in Denver threw fists at me recently after nodding out against my trailer at a stoplight. It got physical but my knuckles didn't get bloodied.

Walking to and from the truckstop, customer, restaurant, etc. Day or night. Carrying a hammer, while not illegal, could make things awkward. The flashlight blinds, and in hand is like a roll of nickels. Mace/pepper spray in the other hand. Gloves.

Belt knife. So many people study BJJ and MMA that there are a lot of people walking around with the skills to incapacitate. I'm old and unskilled. Rules don't apply in survival. Grapple me and I plan to cut and stab. Knife on my belt not in my pocket.

Bats. Not much room for swinging a bat in a truck. Getting out so you have room to swing? Why? You just left the protection of your truck.

I am in no way a ######, operator, or trained fighter. Maybe all my plans will mean nothing to my reptile brain in a crisis. The above are just things that make sense to me.

The picture shows some of my kit.

Finally, be the first one to call 911. You were assaulted. Then shut up and lawyer up. 20201121_205610.jpg

People lacking in that often fail to recognize the value of it.

    Not their fault though.
How can someone carry and use something they will never possess ??

I guess I could carry my 'serious' blade.
A Lord of the Rings Sting replica from United Cutlery - but the good one.
    Toledo spring steel, limited edition.

Or maybe my Henry Big Boy .44 rifle?
That one is a true classic.
