A ball park figure. Plate is about $1600-$2000. IRS form 2290 is $550 yearly. UCR is $350 yearly. Plus Insurance/Authority. Some companies will sell you the plate with a monthly deduct.
latoya thurmond Thanks this. -
My plate cost $2300 this time for all 48, the 2290 will be $550 and the ucr only costs around $20 if you own up to 2 units , either truck or trailer. I have 2 different trailers I use so 3 units and the ucr cost me around $150.
If you are leasing to a company, you will be under their authority and their insurance. You will only need what is known as bobtail insurance for when you are not under a load. It is relatively inexpensive I think.latoya thurmond Thanks this. -
would it cost that much if I was just doing the midwest. and how much is the permits? -
probably cost more. if i remember right an IL plate is expensive but it is based on what states you run and how many miles so nobody can really answer this for you except you state tag office.

My plate here in Wisconsin is $1800 some odd dollarsRockyWI and latoya thurmond Thank this. -
My IL plate is $1827 for and I've got every state on it. I'm paying that to Landstar so I don't know if they add an "administration" fee or anything to it.
it was actually $1675 for 11 months because of when I signed onlatoya thurmond Thanks this. -
what about the permits ? how much did that cost? or did have to pay for that when you leased on. -
Yes, Its a Colorado plate. It went down about $300 from last year. I see the Western trucks with their WY tags, they must have a little yard up there someplace.

you don't buy seperate permits anymore. when you apply for an apportioned plate you choose what staes you want your registration to cover and you estimate your miles running in them. this will vary your cost. there is only a few states you need to d seperatly as they don't play nice with the others. KY, NY, AZ(i think) and some others. It's too late and I'm too tired
