"33,590" /52 = $646 gross is #### close to $550 and if you figure take home rather then gross you got less then $550.

Things have improved since then but it is not like it once was. When I was young and the T800 was new everybody had one. Now days there are probably more log trucks older then that on the road then now. The big guys have new stuff but their is a lot of stuff from the 70s hauling logs.
I didn't say that. I said it was the most dangerous job in the US. That it is: http://time.com/4326676/dangerous-jobs-america/

BTW if your driving log truck in the northwest and not getting at least 33.3% of what the truck makes you either are working for a fly by night guy or cr England's log truck division

Most of the logging trucks around here are 5 years old or newer (yes even owner ops). Trailers generally last through 2-3 trucks before they reach the end of their useful life. The mills are always pushing for more axles, more weight. If you want to stay in business, you'd better be prepared to play ball because if you're running 6 axles and the rates are based off 8 axles, you're going broke.
Last biggest thing the mills wanted was 8 axles (tridrive and quad axle wagon). Now the mills want to push 9 axles (tridrives pulling super b's).Trucker61016 Thanks this. -
Really a super b logger. Jesus how would you get out of the woods loaded. Last long logger I ran was a 6 axle & I made 1100.00/wk. I grew up hauling logs in Oregon and if it wasn't such long hrs I'd still do it. Love the woods.

I know 3 brothers that are all loggers. Two of them bought new Peterbilts last year. New dolley too. They travel around for jobs. I get the impression they take only the best paying hauls. Standard 3 axle truck and tandem axle dolley. They work in this area during winter.

In the woods was the best part
