    1) If a person is not able to work at a McDonald's job, this does not mean that they will be unable to become a truck driver. This is a case of mixing apples and oranges. One has nothing to do with the other.

    2) GOD FORBID, anybody can wind up going to prison and eventually becoming an ex-con. It is true that A LOT of people in this situation did it to themselves. However, NOT all ex-cons are useless members of the workforce or society in general. They have to work somewhere to make a living.

    3) GOD FORBID, anybody should be terminated from or laid off from a job. Regardless of who a person is, it is often quite difficult for many people to find any kind or type of a job whatsoever. I myself have been out work twice for long stretches of time: A) 11 months from 5/8/1992 to 4/12/1993 and, B) 7 months from 9/18/2006 to 4/16/2007.

By the GRACE OF GOD, I was able to get back into the workforce after those 2 spells of unemployment. I would NEVER wish short or long term unemployment on anybody. It is NOT only horrible on one's wallet or pocketbook, it is horrible on one's very pride and soul.

During those 2 spells of unemployment, I did NOT ever collect unemployment compensation. My family helped me through those times. I come from a family that absolutely and positively did NOT believe in collecting an unemployment check. If I were to become unemployed today, I would have no choice but to apply for unemployment compensation. I hope NEVER to have to find out.

NOT all long term unemployed people are useless members of the workforce or society in general. They have to work somewhere to make a living.

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

Quite often, the forum points out that too many new drivers want top pay for not having any experience at all. Here, the forum is pointing out that new drivers are willing to work for table scraps and nothing more. It seems as though that the new driver is caught between a rock and a heartbeat.

The new driver who is "willing to work for table scraps and nothing more" often realize that they are on the bottom of the totem pole and need to get as much experience as possible before rising through the middle and top pay scale ranges.

Also, if a new driver is an ex-con or has been a long term unemployed person, one cannot blame that person for settling for "table scraps and nothing more". IT IS A SHAME THAT ANYONE SHOULD BE IN A POSITION LIKE THIS TO BEGIN WITH! Like every other American, these people do need to work to feed themselves and their families! If their driving and safety records are clean, and they are HONEST about their pasts, what is the problem? The trucking companies made the decision to hire them, (along with clearing it with both their insurance companies and D.O.T.).

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!
