Hey, I've already survived living with an obnoxious man for over 30 yrs and raised his son. Nothing more to observe here.

Thanks. Haven't checked Craigslist yet. Been looking here and trying to do searches on line. When I'm out on the road I try to make note of the different companies I see. Haven't gotten up the nerve to talk to any drivers out there, yet. I hate to bother them when they're working and I'm not sure who the truckers are till they're walking back to the truck. :biggrin_25525:

This may very well be true. But I don't think it will give me a headache as much as the company search has.

Find a small trucking company that aslo utilizes straight trucks, get hired as a straight truck driver then go to management and say "I would like to eventually drive the big rigs" that's what I did and was paid to get my license. The whole time I was training I was on the clock, I was also on the clock when I took my road test. School is not the only option.

    shakey52,

    not sleeping ?? why not??

if you drive legal ,as I do, and will continue to, you have time to sleep.

there is no excuse for not getting proper sleep with the laws today.

I don't let a broker or dispatch force me to drive illegal. not for the last 15 yrs or so.

hey HH.my opinion is that you should not go thru a cdl mill trucking outfit to become an indentured servant.i did not attend a driving school as things were different back when i started.i do know a few drivers that have gone through a company school and a few drivers that attended a state run training program.those that went through the state program owed nothing upon completion.

that fact alone should decrease the headaches that you are encountering and hopefully will allow you to "steer" toward,w/your class A already in hand,a smaller more personable outfit that will not keep you out for months at a time.

    best of luck.

    Hey Numb,
Just out of couriosity where do you see that Shakey stated sleep as being the hardest part of trucking... he said that being woken up by receivers banging on his door was annoying..

Also the OP was asking what is the hardest part of Trucking? You really only provided that you drive legal... this is really not the question posed... I come to this site for knowledge about trucking do you?

Guys/Gals why does every thread need to be turned into a "LOOK AT ME" post...

OK so can I have your opinion about air tire pressure... it turns into I never got a DUI... really... no wonder people treat us the way they do we cannot focus on the basic questions asked!!!
