i sometimes wonder how many truckers can actually read a sign. when i was running in canada quite a bit recently. on 1 on the sk side near the mb border there is a coop in the middle of the highway, quite often they would be inspecting wb traffic i would be east bound. sign says all trucks must enter when lights are flashing, lights on east bound side are not flashing watch one truck after the next pull off and head down to the scales i roll right on by.

another in nd they have small paved pullouts for doing inspections signs read all trucks must enter when signaled. i couldn't tell ya how many times i have watched a truck pull in behind one being inspected without being waved in and then sit there till the dot bear tells them to get the heak out of the way.

They do that on 212 in Montana as well. They just put flags out and officer waves you in if he wants you to stop. I've seen trucks pull in right behind someone being inspected. There is no sign saying to atop so I don't unless waved in. Never had a problem.

Sometimes it's hard to understand the hand signals
I've pulled off in McAllen many times when I didn't know if he was waving me on or waving me over
I'd rather be in trouble for pulling over than pulling out.

    wore out Thanks this.

i never stop for them, unless there is more than 1 bear there witch i have never personally seen at one of the pullout sites, even if no one is in the pullout and he waves me in, if they did chase after me i would just say oh i thought you were saying hi, sorry i wasn't sure what the appropriate hand signal was for coming in can you point it out to me in my green book here. really they will just grab the next truck anyway. when they setup in rest area's ill pull in but even that's kinda the same deal, unless a officer is free and signals you to stop you just bypass anyway.

also the signs instruct you not to stop unless you are told to, witch is what gets me about the guys that pull in, really you cant read your just going to volunteer that 1) you cant read and 2) inspect me please.

one time they setup within site distance of where i unloaded, i waited for him to start an inspection on one truck before i pulled out to leave.

Yeah they had about 3 signs, the first being 2 miles out. You couldn't miss 'em.

Nevada had them up 24 hours ago on the 80. Utah didn't when I came in. Kinda hit or miss.

I35 northbound mm 149 in Oklahoma has one up. All trucks must enter and there are like 20 inspectors going over every #### truck.
