2.5 months on purpose so I could be off at a specific time. It can be mentally exhausting unless you don't care if you ever go home
-
a month whether i needed it or not just to get out of truck and away from the company for a few days。
-
And then you have drivers with no home to get back to.
Texnmidwest, n3ss and joesmoothdog Thank this. -
Wife and I stayed out for three months when we first started. It was summer so weather was good. Now we stay out four to six weeks.
-
Probably about a month when I first started driving and had to go out with a trainer. Realized I was too smart to be an otr truck driver and quit shortly after..

I stayed out about 2.5 months right before i quit OTR for local. Was mainly because my manager dragged out my 2 week notice to a 3.5 week notice. But it did help bank some extra cash, and made it to where i dont think ill ever want to see the inside of a sleeper cab again in my life ...
Bob Dobalina and DTP Thank this.
