When I first started 4 weeks was the average. Did 6 weeks and that was too much.
Now I do if I want to get out OTR because local or regional are slow I'll do like 10-14 days and come back.
Always get that itch if I'm not out on the road after a while. Idk what is it but I just get that itch.
Whats the longest you stayed out on the road without a break ?

3 months running team with a friend, solo 6 weeks, been trying this home daily crap for the last year, nope fixing to go back over the road
-
3 months for me. Now I go home every 4 weeks or so for 4 or 5 days
I run a lot of coast to coast if I stay out for four weeks, if I go home every two, I go more north and south and start spending too much time along the Mid Atlantic and North East in places like New Jersey.. -

My first extended time away from home was for 28 straight days driving a coach bus, motel every night and good food at the venues we visited, it was a blast. When I went traditional OTR with Crete I stayed out for the entire 6 weeks I worked for them, went to orientation and didn't come home until I turned in the truck when I decided that type of work was not for me.
My overall longest time on the road was two back to back three month stretches from mid Oct 2012 through early April 2013 when I only came home for Christmas eve and left again on the day after Christmas. I spent the first three months running team with a friend in Ohio and the second three month period helping at a friend's towing company in Virginia, after which I returned to my car hauling business and moved back home to Pennsylvania. Now I don't stay on the road more than 1 night at a time, usually only during the winter season. -
244 days, was making money, long easy loads. Didn't want to rock the boat.
Wild Murphy Thanks this.
