Whats the MOST miles a driver can do in a month as a single?

    A lease operator MAY make 120 gross a yr, but what was net....most likely less than a company driver. Folks need to remember lease benifits the COMPANY NOT THE DRIVER. Otherwise they would not push it so hard.

    there are really 3 ways to do it.
    1. Lease & team with your wife/spouce so all the $$ goes into 1 bank.
    2. Be a trainer...but some companies (swift for shure) takes away 5 cents/mi for you having in their trainee in your truck.
    3. Buy a truck from a stealership, then contract to a company.

    all have + and - but just know that 120K/yr means nothing, if your expences are 119,000 all you have is cash flow. (remember 5K for a set of tires, fuel ~ 400-600 every couple of days depending on the miles you run), and what happens when the truck goes in for service Still $500 for this weeks payment, & the truck just sat in the shop for 4 days cause the pink antifreese is eating up the water pump, & needs to be swapped out...covered under warranty, but your lost wages are not).

    IMHO Drive hard when I am away from home so I can afford to take time off & have the money to do what I enjoy when I get home...I am also a Company driver. It seems to me a local driver running a specialized truck that not many folks have, but is in demand in your area is the profitable way to be an OO.

    I did about 12 to 13 once amd I was wore out, told myself never again, I'm happy with 10 or 11 just fine for me, my health amd happiness is more important, and if someone tells you 16, well , maybe 20 yrs ago, but not legally, and today definitely not legal, I think the most legally ran miles in a month would be around 13 or 14, and that would depend on an awefull lot of lucky runs, probably drop and hook and roll out.
    Then again I did get lucky once for a week, I ran from Chicago to Portland Oregon and ba k in one week it was a little over 4, but that was pure d luck the whole way, I don't imagine you would be that lucky four times in a row.

    At Schneider I was on a mostly drop and hook account, so I was typically in the 10-12k per month range. One month I hit 13k, saw it wasn't worth it financially, and stayed in my normal range from there on out. Lol

    Any chance that they were canadian? 13 hours of driving a day and 70 every seven or more if your up north … if you burn your 70 in five days and catch a reset it works out to 70 every six days. Makes it a lot easier to get too many miles or the may have misused miles when discussing km.

    Would have been very easily done considering the OP started this thread prior to the elog mandate.

    I know 4K miles a week was what I was doing when I started in 2017. Saying
    “I’m out of hours “ where I used to work would only get yourself laughed at by the other drivers..

    Was the best driving gig I’ve had..Even better than working for myself.

    Depends on what freight.
    Van, reefer, tanker, flatbed, heavy haul.

    Depends on what region. The flatland will get more miles then the mountains.

    Depends on how fast you can get unloaded and reloaded. Vans and reefers won't do as much as flatbeds.
