For the most part, I get along with anyone, but this guy went the extra mile, He didn't have to pull over to give me a hand either, I was in a narrow drive and the blind side of my trailer had slipped off the 2 track I was on. The trailer shifted over on my drives, and i couldn't go forward or backwards. 425 bucks later I was back on the drive.... I was mad at myself! The trooper told me that a number of trucks have gone off that thing in the same spot. I should of moved my tandoms all the way forward first!

Back in the 70's when I started driving in south TX. it was like Heaven on earth no scales and very little enforcement.Things really changed in the 90's I think TX. is the worst now.

Wyoming is the easiest on truckers. If your not a prick, they will let you get away with a lot. I've never had a speeding ticket in Wyo. and I've gotten stopped and only gotten warnings for as much as 20 over on a 2 lane.
If I had to rank them, based on my 11 states I run:
1. Wyoming
2. New Mexico
3. So. Dakota/Oklahoma
4. Montana
5. Kansas
6. Colorado (and I live and am based here)
7. Utah
8. Texas
9. Idaho
10. Nebraska -

I noticed in the last five years troopers hardly write speeders anywhere other than OH.and IL.mostly because they are tied up working major accidents now days. -
I left my CDL at a shipper in CA, discovered that as I got pulled into the Idaho Springs, CO scale. He checked my record and turned me loose without the ticket I could have gotten. Was 100+ lb overweight on the tandems at the first scale coming into CO from UT on the 70, walked in all dejected for the ticket I thought I was getting, he said "I didn't pull you in, have a good day".
I like CO.. -
Well I'll probaly get railed for this, but I live in Florida so I'm kind of partial to it, I know pre-pass never seems to work and we have scales everywhere, but 99.9% of the DOT I've ran across we're easy to get along with and explained everything to me, but I'm sure my understanding went a long way, I think if you treat people the way you want to be treated most things will turn out well. In all reality Florida probably isn't the greatest, but they seem fairly easy going on weights and what not, most of the time if i'm a few hundred over they don't give me much of a problem.
