My fiance works at tmc and they have been pretty good to him. He is now a local driver and comes home every night, he doesn't make 1,700 though but we manage to pay our bills (1,000+). He doesn't polish his truck but does take it threw the blue beacon every 2 weeks (if not they will get on you). They do make you detail your truck and I mean detail when they service your truck they do a inspection. He has failed each one but thankfully its once or twice a year. The guy that does the inspection failed him last time bc 1- they left plastic cuttings from wires they replaced, 2- the floor had a stain on it so we had to use the little green machine to steam clean it, 3- a little dirt left in the door slot and 4- the stick shift plastic thing, they want all the black shiny, besides the petals. It took us a xtra 3-4 hours to get this done plus the cleaning he did himself without me. I don't understand why they don't pay to have the inside done twice a year, you are NOT paid for this, we live a hour away from the terminal and it sucks when the driver doesn't pass. He doesn't keep his truck dirty and I just don't get that they can make a driver detail their truck without pay, gas $, green machine, etc.
Now the things I like.. he got offered a position where he can come home nightly. He got a raise after the 1st year. When they were having too many drivers but not enough loads they tried to make up for the loss of income, it was hard bc he wouldn't have a load until lunch (he gets 2 per day) and only get one. They eventually told one of the other guys he had to go back to line hall.
I really can't complain bc he is home, sure it's sometimes late in the evening, long hours but he can be here with our daughter. I gotta give all of you credit for what you do, working 14 hours a day, getting up at 5 just to get home by 8, being away from family & delivering our goods. SO THANK YOU!
TRUCK DRIVERS SHOULD BE PAID OVERTime. Lol

Good outfit, slower trucks. Pay is percentage on sliding scale. They do have driver facing cameras in some trucks. You will tarp majority of your loads.

Just started with TMC few complaints, but they seem to be the general ones with every company. The pay is good average between 900 and 1200 a week. Pay all depends on your time management. I've had lots of runs in WI IA MI ID KY MD PA NY really the great lakes area. But I know other drivers run all over south and southwest, its luck of the draw. It surprised me to find out you usually do get weekends home (though they only guarantee 34 hrs....). While yeah they are VERY strict with appearance, (Trucking Marine Corps is very accurate) they pay for you to wash the truck AT LEAST 1 time every two weeks but you can wash it every week if you want. But over all a good and honest company (a little more honest than most other companies) But my experience is good so far. This industry is what you make of it, just as many people have bad experiences as do good. You make your own way in this industry it is a hard life. A positive attitude and glass half full look at things will make a huge difference.

Southern loads are not paying much, better rates in the mid-west.
