Make that somewhere between 220000 and 300000 miles. 1550 miles every 30 hours or less. Usually less when a husband and wife team are running on full tilt. Cross the USA twice in 6 days flat. If that.

I alsolutely agree that once your 18 wheeler leaves the pavement there is crush zones, A pillar failures and so many other deliberately designed points of crush, failures etc that will kill you in a very hard way in a proper rollover, especially one that wont stop. over and ovar and over, each point of contact violent enough to break soemthing. Your knee, then elbow then af ew teeth, then skull then the other foot, other leg lower arm break break break break.
We lost a fire truck in the next county over not more than last week. Driver had a full suited crew in his cab with him, 4 souls in total. Engine was a pumper. With a special crew protection cab plus armor and load bearing ability to roughly 50,000 pounds of weight resistance should it be applied to a ceiling above the 4 of them (Scenario crane collapse) A car specifically in a hurry cut them off completely and totally. The driver without conscious thought took the rig into the right hand side which was a ditch big enough to consume the entire rig as he was trained to do. The other crewmembers aboard the rig were wearing seatbelts as per strict directives based also on training. They have a first class firefighting and rescue outfit down that way as well as access to the Gaurd's Chemical Battalion Post in the area in case there is a train wreck or somethjing else entirely involving chemical accident or attack. -
