Maybe because drivers don't wanna freeze or wake up to dead batteries....not hard to figure out

    I did re read it..
So tell me how a 10L engine can use .44 gl pre hr in a 26,000 lb truck BUT the same 10L uses .64 in a 80,000 lb truck....??

Dies a 11L engine even know what size truck it's in....? Does it say oh I'm in a bigger truck so I must use more fuel to idle....!

It's really hard to believe any of it when ALL THE PEOPLE that are talking work for a idle reduction companies....!
What you expect them to say other wise....?
Kinda like the boges numbers thrown out by the apu makers

@Dino soar I was referring to this. You have to assume that those that are idling don’t want one or the other because they’re idling. Just the way you replied about all the stuff you can do with a generator. And the last sentence about idling making more sense. That’s like if I started a thread about having four windows in my bunk and I don’t understand why everyone doesn’t have four windows in their bunk because you can open them and get a breeze. Some of us are picky and don’t want generators and gas cans strapped to our trucks. Some of us have things from the factory that makes our trucks pleasant in all but extreme situations. Some of us don’t idle enough to justify the cost of an APU. It’s what makes the world go around.

    I nominate..

For threads like this, where the argument/debate just goes round and round.

Boss told me to idle truck he pays for the fuel… I told boss I’d be done cleaning the truck out by days end . He laughed until mechanic asked him why I was leaving . By days end I had a engine and bunk heater. He later told me that he stopped spending money on them because drivers were too lazy to use the units.. I often sleep at customers who have a no idle policy to keep neighbours happy . I don’t have too sleep there but it saves me a ton of time each week by doing so.

dont worry he has the answers to everything. im sure he will tell you , because you dont like the look of a apu or generator mounted on your rig, that is the wrong way to think and you are a fool who has no business running a truck!
