They don't seem to make any real difference in my experience. Furthermore, the staff inside don't leverage the information to do anything about the dead-beat truckers. If another driver goes in and complains about the guy in front of them being nowhere in sight for 10+ minutes, they MIGHT make an announcement but that's as far as it goes.
I had high hopes for this development, but it seems to have been a waste of PFJ money on an experiment they never followed through with. Blame ridiculous 5 MPH Drive trigger thresholds for much of this BS. Also, blame staff shortages and/or lots of slow register operations for some of this as well (very long lines)
I can't count how many times I pull into a fuel area and of 8+ lanes, 6 or more are occupied with a truck with no hose in a tank, no driver, no activity whatsoever going on around the truck.
What's up with drivers parking IN the fuel island to go shopping and not fueling...WTF??

But, it's not going to get any better. In fact will only continue to get worse, month by month, year by year.
But think of this ... a new kind of fuel system (in my dreams).
- Super high speed pumps
- Pump attendant hands driver a tablet where driver swipes cards and inputs necessary information
- Separate pump for simultaneous reefer fuel
- DEF can be pumped while fuel is pumped
- Then a pump attendant starts the fuel process (driver remains in truck)
- Pump attendant washes windshield [for a tip]
- When finished, driver receives printout, and must proceed to parking lot or leave the truck stop
- In and out in 3 minutes, 4 tops

The prerecorded message that tells drivers to please pull up as a courtesy to others sure is useful..

See this all the time. Now with elogs there’s a pattern.
I watch them ignore open fuel pumps. Pull behind someone who just got there. Go off duty. Proceed to pisser. Call old lady in previous country. Buy a Coke. Hang out with their kind. Return to truck to pull forward as fuel pump has been open ten minutes. . Hang up on wife.
Before exiting truck, call girlfriend. Raise hood. Insert fuel nozzles. Leave for fast food line in restaurant. Order and eat at table.
Return to truck to fuel. Call cousin (notice never off of phone). Slop the windshield. Finish.
Pull forward. Time for heap big dump. Go back inside third time.
Clever, eh? Piss, get cold drink, fuel, eat meal, take dump. Soooo smart to save the hours. It’s how their boss directs them to act.
Confront some. I have:
1). First answer, “oh, I deednt know”. (Liar)
2). Second answer, “I see all these other drivers do it”. (My six year grandson knows better).
3) Third answer, “#%^*”. (Deleted)
It’s the truck stops fault in this case. Unlike parking in fire lane when out of hours.
Just need minority monitors. Whichever group most hates the other, that’s who polices whom. Would make a right lively fuel stop, it would. Ha!

I hate it when there's parking spaces near the islands and you arrange yourself to get into one but the idiot blocks your space where you cant adjust to safely back and park. Then they got nerve to tell you, "your a professional, you should be able to maneuver easily without a problem" makes me want to ##### slap them. -
Its only gonna get worse... Truck drivers have no respect at the truck stop for anything or anybody... I've been almost ran over, cussed at, you name it... Its no wonder Walmart won't let us park at their store... I mean seriously you can't dispose of a pee bottle properly instead of just throwing it onto someones parking lot... Are truck drivers that lazy to walk to the trash can... It takes me about 10 mins to fuel and I'm on my way. I usually just go find a parking spot, but I have seen guys sit in the fuel island for over an hour and its uncalled for...

I've done it. After fueling and waiting for 15 min for the guy in front of me to leave, I go inside and do what I need to do, still parked at the island. I come back and the guy behind me has smoke coming out of his ears because I'm parked at the island and not fueling and the guy who was blocking me for a half hour has finally left making ME look like the moron.
Not everyone parked at the fuel island is doing it to spite you. If you didn't see the guy in front of him leave then you don't know how long the guy was at the fuel island to begin with. So be careful when you approach someone, it might not be his fault at all. If you would approach me with an attitude when something like that had just happened to me you'd get an earful.BUMBACLADWAR, homeskillet, tinytim and 1 other person Thank this.
