So 7 months in to this industry.

I can get 80 gallons plus def in about 8-10 minutes. Seems about normal for most drivers.

I then pull forward to the finish line. Bathroom, get a drink or a snack. 7-10 minutes. As I’m walking out the driver behind me is just finishing up. Does this sound about right to you guys?

I take every opportunity I get to park. Practice practice practice. For my 30 I fuel and then park. If there’s no parking I know I have to plan better. It’s my fault, and the guy behind me shouldn’t have to wait for my dumb ### poor planning.

I think this is the right way.

I like your time table but as far as "trip planning" thats just a phrase people use when they want to blame a driver for something (in my humble opinion). Hard to tell how much parking there's going to be 2 states away and still maximize drive time. This isnt a 9 to 5 job and there's too many things that can dely us that we cant control; again, just my humble opinion

I park at the pumps and use the bathroom sometimes but only when there are plenty of lanes open and the parking spots are full.

Flying J Tues. morning 6:30 a.m. 10 pumps only one of them open. When I was pulling in I think 1 guy actually had a hose in the tank, the rest nothing. Mostly day cabs (local guys) an Ashley furniture had 45 mins. on his timer. But the winner was the guy I pulled up next to. 99 minutes and counting. Big red Peterbilt with you guessed it, a gear shift that almost touched the top of the cab. When I went to start the satellite pump he was sitting there eating something. My timer flipped to open after 6mins./45secs. I was leaving.

What was the point of the timers if PFJ wasn't going to enforce it somehow. I have given up on the name calling approach. I thought that would work but everybody seems to think they have a good enough reason to park at the pumps so all you get is 10 guys on here telling you to "mind your own business there's never anybody there and I'm in and out in less than 4 minutes" I'll just report the worst of the worst now for entertainment purposes only. Unless anybody has a real solution to this problem I've chocked it up to I'm gonna get lucky or screwed when I stop to fuel up.

"I was just inside for 5 minutes" type of people cant be shamed or coerced into doing the right thing and being considerate of their fellow drivers because their clock is more important than everyone else's and calling them out just makes them the victim..come on ppl we should know that by now!!

At the big Petro at a Ralphine, VA, they have that recording on a loop of the woman telling guys to move after fueling. Shes sounds hateful as hell too and it still doesn't seem to work.

In a super annoyed and condescending tone from a female,

"Drivers if you are getting fuellll.....please pull up after you're done getting fuellllll.......if you have already gotten your fuel and you are finished, please move your truck from the fuel pumps. We have other drivers waiting to fuellllllll. Thank you."

I bet I heard it play 100 times and nobody made a move. 100 empty spots to park in and theres even a SHUTTLE that will take you back and forth, still nobody move.
