Firstly there is way too many trucks on the road going back and forth on lanes that they do not have to. Example: a load of swinging beef goes from MI to TX and the return load is boxed meat from TX to MI, does that make any sense? So, I can think that the only reason why we truck beef cross country and consolidate it is to build our megacities for the elite who want to control us in every way. They do not want us to have acreage, to eliminate us from their competitors. They want us corralled into an apartment complex getting brainwashed by the puppet box.
OK? so, you claim that "shelling out $10.00" is no big deal? Wait for the day when drivers will not be reimbursed for that expense which will climb higher and higher. Right now there are many companies that will not allow their trucks to idle unless it is below 36 degrees, this is mainly on newer models like the 2012 T-600. The computer on these newer trucks were set up this way to reflect the unusual high diesel prices, in other words the oil companies put the added costs on the carrier first and then lastly the driver who has to sleep without heat! -

That idle limit has been offered for a long time about as long as there's been electronic controls. I don't see the big deal I don't idle between 36 and 80 degrees anyways. Maybe for an hour I'd go doing a 34 and need to charge the batteries.

Who pulls swingin' meat any more? Someone needs to get out from under their rock more frequently!

Can't be long-haul, the way we used to do it... can it? The big packers have combined their ops into single locations to cut costs, and there's very few small independent operations these days unless it's a craft sort of operation.

I don't think the meat cutter would know what to do with a half of beef thrown on his table anymore !!!
Beef has been boxed so long that the meat cutters today just go in the cooler and grab a box and trim and slice it .
If it is a walmart meat department guy he just puts the prepackaged stuff on the shelf !!
If it says hamburger and it looks like a turkey it goes in the hamburger spot !!! -
driver I think you missed his intent -
by the way, I was going up 81 with an oversize to Syracuse,ny wed night. used the reserve parking at the Roanoke t/a . there is a grand total of 22 reserved parking spaces.
the O/P greatly over stated the number of reserved spots. I guess in his anger at not having a space he was confused
