I don't really see this as anything to get up in arms over and start arguing with one another disrespectfully....
What's up with T/A and their "Parking Reservations" ?!?!?

Just becasue you don't like doesn't mean everyone else has to follow...different things work for different drivers...lets stop acting like this..NavigatorWife, PackRatTDI and allniter Thank this. -
This is all getting ridiculous, some of you are calling each other names, cracking at each other's experience, and for what? Arguing about paying for a reserved parking spot? Come on guys sheesh.
It's a service just the same as many other services. Some don't like it because it "takes away spots for other drivers". Though I agree that TA/petro can do what they want, after all they OWN the parking lot and NO ONE is FORCED to buy a reserved spot.
I HATE "creating" my own parking spot when I pull into a truck stop late at night. I feel like a D-bag for it. If I'm pulling oversize wider than 11' then I will park by the cat scale or something, but I'm usually parked before the sun goes down.
I've used the reserve it service many times, it's nice that when it's 6pm and I won't get shut down till 3am, that I have a parking space waiting for me. It's peace of mind and at a small price. I've been made fun of on the CB for parking in a reserved spot, but it doesn't bother me none. At least I'm not the a-hole parked perpendicular to a row of truck blocking 6+ trucks in and getting woke up in the morning by angry drivers because I was too "proud" to buy a reserved spot.
This topic is well over played and talked about. Everyone has their own opinion about it, mine is, use it if you like it, don't if you don't like it.skootertrashr6, drvrtech77, peterd and 4 others Thank this. -
forced dispatch has nothing to do with how you manage your clock
learn the business junior quit blaming the rest of us for your inadequaciesJoetro, DrtyDiesel, skootertrashr6 and 2 others Thank this. -
Plus just because you get your truck 6.5 years before the other guy got his means nothing, this doesn't make you better than him. If you'd like to stand on his shoulders and call yourself tall I'm sure he would oblige you, only to throw you down and laugh at your expense. Can't you see you're arguing with Someone you have no chance of winning against? Even if you were to win, it'd be like winning a pie eating contest with bull feces as the pie filling..... -

I haven't been a company driver in quite some time, over a decade in fact, but why aren't your companies reimbursing parking as an expense, just like a toll. The previous companies I worked for as a company driver would reimburse parking back on the day if there were no other options, including the mega in Lookout Mountain TN. My second company would pay for monthly parking for drivers that were not from our terminal area as we were home every weekend. Are you guys just not asking to be reimbursed?

I guess they think it should be better planning.
