As everyone said. Think of Freightshaker as good fleet vehicles. (Low Purchase Price, More Dealers w/24hrs Service, Cheap Parts)

So Far I have driven: Freightliners, Volvos, Internationals, & Peterbilts. The Pete completely spoiled me and did not leave me sitting at the dealer like my new Cascadia. My new truck is at the dealer (Again:biggrin_2552:) while I'm on home time. It's taking so long to fix, I getting another truck tomorrow. Hope it is my old one. Cheap is one thing, Shop 4 times before 5000 Miles is joke.

    Good Luck All:biggrin_25514:

Thats a bunch of crap. Different PEOPLE like different things, regardless of their race. I personally would never drive a FL Windpusher Classic. I've seen more whites in classics than I think I've seen ANYone.

This is like saying that someone is born with a certain color skin AND a propensity to like certain things in their genes. You may want to read a book or two, but your personal likes and dislikes are formed by the way you were raised and what you were exposed to as a child.

Good God, freakin Truckstop Scientists in here.

Actually a new Freightliner Cascadia is 10k more than a Volvo 780. (according to my contractor who is sadly switching to those POS) He says that he is switching to them because of their warranty.. He just bought three of them earlier this year, all three were under 75k miles, and turbos blew... one fan came off, went through the radiator, and another already had to have a DPF replaced.... I'll stick with my Volvo until the wheels fall off...

Just a question, how are any of the issues you described the truck brand's fault? Seems to me those are all engine or 3rd party parts issue (fan clutch) Meaning it wouldn't matter what truck the engine was in it would still have the same issues. As far as the wheels falling off a volvo, if your referring to the steering wheel I believe Volvo had that issue a few years ago. Something about the steering column falling in your lap.:biggrin_2559:

IMO if your writing the check and want either a Volvo or a KW then great buy what you want. Funny thing is if you compare apples to apples A KW or Pete really isn't any higher than most other brands. Problem is most people don't compare spec's they only compare price. Anything can be made cheaper if you spec it with cheaper parts. Spec them the same and the price difference is minimal.

3 at a time will not get you much of a deal from any truck manufacture. A Corporate Salesperson would offer a night with their spouse to earn the commission on 500+ truck. :biggrin_25513:
The turbo is a engine problem (3rd Party), Freightliner only Engine?

I once had my whole sleeper slide off the frame of a brand new Volvo 780 D-16!

A week later all the injectors had to be replaced!

In the same breath I had a brand new T2000 and the radiator split down the seams with 2800 miles on the truck! Fixed the radiator and two days later the whole electronic fuel petal assembly had to be replaced!

Moral of my little story, they all have their problems no matter what make or model. All brand new trucks have to have their bugs worked out. When buying a truck no matter what brand or make your absolute best bet is to buy one with about 250,000 on the odometer. Let someone else break her in!

With all that being said, enjoy your driving career and try to drive as many different trucks as possible. You never know what your favorite will be until you have!

Personal favorite ----- Kenworth Studio W900 with a CAT! Beautiful piece of machinery!

Well I'm stating a fact, (as I have been told) that the Cascadia is 10k more than a Volvo 780 I have driven both trucks, and the ride, comfort, sleeper are all much better IMO on the Volvo. We all have our own opinions when it comes to trucks. I have driven everything from Petes, to Autocars and everything in between. When I first started driving, I loved the long hoods. But overtime, I realize that there is more to driving than looking flashy with all the chrome, and chicken lights driving down the road. And it comes down to Comfort... Now I know im gonna start a #### storm argument with the long hood drivers, but this is MY opinion.

All of our trucks are similar in spec. They aren't fleet spec. So in a sense I am comparing Apples to Apples. It's not like I am comparing a stripped down Columbia to a W9. The Cascadia and 780 are comparable trucks, and compete for each others business.

(BTW Freightliner had a problem with there dashboards falling off in the classics)
