What's with Ohio cops hamming the hell out of truckers?

These old pics might bring back some memories for some ... Say what you want about trucking today, but trucking yesterday from an accounting and legal standpoint was difficult. Somebody stepped in and got rid of a lot of bureaucracy, and we should be thankful, especially the owner-ops and carrier accounting managers.

 

I hear ya', I do. When you compare today with yesterday, I'm sure it was a nightmare, especially for someone that trucked cross country. I was pretty much a local midwest driver, so the bingo cards, which I always thought, was the cardboard document with the stickers on, in addition to the permit in the folder, not the metal plates, usually only had 3 or 4 stickers. Then we got the "abortioned" plates, and the multiple plates disappeared, but I think we still had the bingo card. I think the metal plates with the little stickers was for the fuel tax, and different from the stickers on the card and permits in the cab. Anyone?
