i have applied at several of these firms only to find out they are nothing more then a recruiting firm, usually for JB HUNT. doesnt JB hunt have recruiters of their own? why the outside agencies. example "smith mountain freight" nothing more then a recruiting firm. i have asked on here the opinion of JB hunt and it is not good which is why i stay away from them so far. it is tempting sometimes. local work, home daily, and a large company with the resources to keep drivers going rain or shine. anyways, why are they using recruiting firms?
what's with these outside recruitting firms?

Recruiting firms work on commission. It's cheaper to hire a recruiting firm than to hire a full time employee on salary with benefits.
JB Hunt works well for many drivers. Those dedicated accounts can be real moneymakers for a driver with a good work ethic. -
tscottme Thanks this.

Some of the best money I ever made was while I was at J.B. I retired from there in 2006 after 42 years in the trucking industry ( 8 years with Hunt). -
