On 10 meters ....
28.400 is a common SSB frequency, 29.600 is FM SIMPLEX, 29.620, 29.640, 29.660 and 29.680 are repeter outputs on 10 meters.
On 20 meters.....
14.300 USB is a common net frequency
14.070 PSK31 dgital

Yup, that's what I did. Bought a 2 meter handheld, built a Jpole, and just listened. After I got my ticket I posted on Craigslist for a radio, ended up picking up a Kenwood TS830S for a reasonable price. Someday I'll upgrade to General.
