I would take the OTR job.

That flatbed stuff is good experience and can work into something better.

Later on if you decide the OTR life isnt for you, you can use flatbed experience and do something local like hauling construction material or whatever.

In my opinion thats better than making 20 stops a night backing into little gas station parking lots unloading Pepsi.

Most places that load flatbeds dont even let you get on the trailer due to safety regs.

Having someone climb up a ladder by themselves carrying a 100 lb tarp is just dumb.

I guess that glass just wills itself onto the trailer since there is no mechanical device to lift that tarp up there.

I'm not sure why you and several others are so bent on discounting what I did in training back in 2006 but that's cool.

I can't wait to get out of this ####ing industry

The Pepsi deal sounds rotten. 300 miles at .50 pm. $150/day max. $750 for 5 days. Take home $575. Minus any health ins costs. Keep Looking, asking others that currently work for prospective Companies. They’ll gladly tell you all the drawbacks. Figure it out from there.

No one is doubting that you did what you say you did. The issue is that it is unnecessary and incredibly unsafe. There is zero reason for a guy to carry a 100lb tarp up a ladder. The folks at your company should know this and be preaching it.

Out of all the times I was at laurinburg, I never saw anyone hauling tarps up a ladder.
