Well nuts, this isn't how this load was supposed to work out.

After crossing the border yesterday, I discovered that Canada has an additional HOS rule that I did not know about. Apparently, Canadian drivers are required to take 24 consecutive hours off every 14 days IN ADDITION to the normal 36 hour restart that is available.

So, in short, I couldn't deliver this morning, and they don't work on the weekends, so I'm stuck at this truck stop until Monday. I'll get a full restart in, but since this is considered a critical load, I'll have to swap out with another driver who is already on his way up here with another load. So my delivery is getting pushed until Tuesday, and I'm losing my planned next load from South Dakota to Missouri.

I'm about three seconds away from cutting up this #### passcard. Even though I make good money on Canada runs when they're done right, I'm getting tired of getting all worked up for a 4,000 mile paycheck only to have it destroyed because no one bother training us Canada drivers on the Canada HOS. They KNOW how many hours we have to run, why are these not scheduled in a way to allow for a 34 hour restart?? So frustrating.

Now, the paycheck that should have been 4000 miles won't even have 2000 miles on it. I might get a big check on the next week if Maverick keeps me moving, but there's no telling what may happen. I'm supposed to be home on Oct. 3rd, gonna be VERY irritated if I don't make it because of this screwup.
