Doesn't the rule also state that only the 11 can get extended and that any extension must still fall within the 14 hours?

Or you can log out of the system. Take the points as its the end of the month and will be gone before you ever really get them. I'm not suggesting you do this just exploring all the possible solutions.

Well, turned out along with my trailer blow out, there is also a nail in one of my drives.. Road service tells me he doesn't have plug kit on his truck, he'd have to drive back to shop to get it... I had 30 minutes left on my clock, so I signed his papers and ran to the pilot in effingham. Now I'm sitting in front of the door to the shop here waiting for it to open at 8... Once fixed, I'll make my way home finally... I guess I'll have enough time to mow the grass, do my laundry, and hang out with the family for I little while at least... Unfortunately it looks like I'll be running recap next week! Ah, the freedom of the open road. lol

Carleton, MI. Had 1 min on the clock when I hit the top of the ramp. Had to go "on duty" to get her parked. Hope to get unloaded in the morning.

Ouch! Log out? I wouldn't risk the act being considered "knowing and willful", Besides the bare minimum of being placed out of service, you risk:

Fines from state and local law enforcement.
FMCSA levied civil penalties to the driver and carrier for amounts ranging fro $1000 to $11,000.
Carrier safety rating downgrading for patterned offenses (read "you lose your job to protect the company")
Federal CRIMINAL penalties against driver and/or carrier.

In Maverick's own words "Why risk it?".

Better to just stay logged in and call safety and let them know when you expect to arrive at a safe haven. Same points, less chance of creating a mess.
