Headed to the fort for the weekend

 

Yesterday morning (Friday!!) started empty at Precision Stip in Minster, OH. Headed down to AK in Middletown, OH to reload, I knew it was going to be a hectic day- just knew I would get one of the time consuming shorties, and sure enough, I did. W/A came in while en route to AK, reload AK Middletown, OH to Worthington Steel Middletown (1 paid loaded mile, 71 paid empty miles LOL). Got reloaded at AK in pretty decent time but got stuck by the stupid train on way out of plant for about a half an hour. Got over across town to Worthington and unloaded all in less than 45 minutes. OK, going pretty good.... Reload w/a comes in to reload at the dreaded Precision Strip Middletown. OH NO! This load is headed to Hampshire, IL for Monday a.m. drop. Load appointment time is 4pm. It is now 2:30. I drive over to P Strip and pull in....... there are at least 45 TRUCKS there ahead of me- I AM NOT KIDDING. (Sewerman can vouch for this!) I am now upset. And there are several Mavericks and Hogans there who run the same PLS account that I do. We are all just wailing over the cb about this clusterfark. This place is incredibly SLOW even if you are the ONLY TRUCK IN THE WHOLE PLACE! So, I now know that I will not be getting home Friday evening like I was hoping to- so I could roll out early on Sunday to get to Gary yard to have a marker lite on trailer replaced w/o getting my 34 in. I spoke with FM, got my load apt changed to Saturday (today) at 6pm. Call my wife to come pick me up there at P Strip. She comes down and gets me to take me back to the house. I obtained permission to leave my truck there Friday and Saturday nites- with help from FM. They do allow O/N parking there anyways.... While I am waiting on my wife to get there to pick me up, I decide to go over and gripe with a buddy of mine- Chris, another Maverick on the PLD acct- I notice that there is another Maverick standing outside Chris's truck- a BLACKHAT LOL! So I go over and join the b_tch-fest. This driver who I did not know, starts talking about "LIPSTICK, OH" and I instantly recognize that term.... Can anyone guess who it was that I met at Precision yesterday? (Hint, I already gave it away...)

 

I keep hearing about this Lipstick place but in almost a decade with Mav I have yet to go to this place.

 

Home. Got in about 8pm last night, leaving out around 8am Monday.

 

Sioux Falls, SD...just in time for the blizzard tomorrow...

 

It was a pleasure to meet you in person. I didn't get loaded till 10 o'clock that night. To me it was par for the course at a precision strip they suck!
I did keep an eye on your truck it was all there when I left at six this morning. You owe me one night of guard duty. LOL

 

Ha! Thanks Pollack! It was just the way I left it when I got there today to check on it- except, somehow, when I left it, I noticed that somehow, magically, a coil had been loaded on the trailer and was tarped real pretty for me! Strange.... Hmmmmm.....
