Wheel bearing

    I have a 2001 volvo d12c , serial 317328

    Does anyone know the torque on the wheel bearing?

    Also the tightening procedure?

    my local dealer won't give me that info.

    Normally I put the hub on fill with gear oil I tighten rhe nut to 250ft spin hub 360 loosen but tighten to 150ft spin 360 loosen nut then tighten nut until you have slight drag and lock it down with the retaininf lock.if you have the style with the center spaced then I belive it is 250ft pounds you can go on to the timkin heavy duty website and check it out as well

    It depends on what type of bearing you have.

    A standard bearing set that doesnt have a spacer between the bearings is

    Torue to 100ft. lbs while rotating tire. Back off one full turn. Torque to 50 ft.lbs. Back of 1/3 turn. Locknuts are usually around 200-300ft-lbs. Dont forget to bend lock tab. Final end play is .001-.005"
