very happy to hear that your bro-in-law is better. some of us get it, some do not. I think that some think its a homo thing to have something inserted into an orifice. when it is of medical importance, ignorance to the homo thing should NEVER enter the mindset of those.
but you know what, your bro-in-law is alive, and hopefully my biopsy will show no cancers as well.
some people need to get rid of notions homophobic thoughts of, "no one is gonna stick something up there", when it is of medical need.
I was told that I have "moderate diverticulosis of the whole colon"
so it is recommended that I take a probiotic (I got some today at wally-world) and to increase my fiber intake, which I can drink a glass of Metamucil once a day.....
When I am burned out on DVD's etc..............

I guess it's somebody's right to get all puffed up about it, but it's really not that big of a deal. And I really don't want colon cancer if there's a way around it. You go in, have the best nap of your life, wake up and go home. I'm having my 3rd one in a couple of weeks and the worst part is turning out to be finding somebody who can drive me home from the doctors office in the middle of the afternoon.

Nah, in that case I'd have said "my third one within a span of a couple of weeks." And normally they're scheduled 10 years apart, or five if they find something they want to monitor.
Big Don Thanks this. -
And yes, I have read the book, so I know it exists. Of course don't ask me what is in it, as I don't remember anything past the title. Read it too long ago.

I've had a colonoscopy twice, the first time was outpatient, Dr. was pissed because I didn't entirely follow orders, sure I did the cleanse, sure I tripled our water bill with all my flushes that day, but the night before the procedure I went to my part time job delivering pizzas, couldn't resist a handful of pepperoni. Sedation was fun. The second time around was the barium enema colonoscopy, where they pump you full of liquid, tell you CLENCH and HOLD for about 6 minutes (that is the longest 6 minutes of your life), then they help you off the table (while still clenching) and in to the bathroom you go. They typically schedule these procedures in 90 minutes blocks, generally because prep takes 15 minutes, the procedure takes 8 minutes (including fill up time), clean out takes about 45 to 50 minutes. At least they had a good magazine selection in the bathroom. Oh, and the toilet paper was 1 ply.....ewwwwwww.......
