When it's $1.48/mile versus .48/mile why not aspire to be an o/o?

No. the correct answer is PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY. I don't blame carriers for paying substandard rates. I blame these super truckers who are tripping over each other to pull the garbage and then blaming everyone else for their poor choices.

This can be debated until were all Blue in the face.

I've said it a few dozen times on here and in person to several owner-ops.....

If You Cant put $50,000 CLEAR away in YOUR personal Bank account Each and every year for Your Own Pleasure.....Your Not worth doing it.

And I'm Talking about After the Cost Of EVERYTHING, Personal and Business, (House Payments,College for the Kiddos,Car,Food,EVERYTHING.

I Hate Seeing you guys Just Getting By Living in Trailers on farms or Wherever with Well Water and Septic Tanks.. YOU CAN DO BETTER THAN THAT BEING AN OWNER_OP.

Pizzes Me Off Some of you guys.

In 20 Years.....You Should Have Close to a million Dollars in your Savings- If Not, You did it Wrong

Sorry dude you just lost any respect I had for you by attempting to imposing your goals on me.

I just purchased a place because it has clean well water and is not connected to an urban sewer system. I have zero interest in living in a city or urban area.

Your goal in life may be to live in an urban cesspool of humanity it is not mine.

i agree with most everything you said except for this part. i live in a 260k dollar house in town, its not the fanciest house but its nice. however in may ways id rather live in a trailer house on a farm with a septic tank and water well.

there is nothing wrong with living in trailer house on a farm and you should be ashamed to look down on people that CHOOSE to live that way.

I don't think where or how you live is as relevant as the fact that if you're an OO you should be making enough money to live how you want without stressing the wallet. While I don't appreciate people coming from areas that are cheap to live into my area and pushing rates down bc they "can" do it cheaper than what it pays, I'm not bothered by those folks coming in and getting market rates and bringing it home and living well.

Living cheap doesn't mean you need to work for cheap.

Read the rest.... and it was just a parroting of crap I've heard before......

Oh and by that last line you obviously have no knowledge of me personally. My expectations are for clean safe water where I live. My opinion is that is not available on a city water supply. So I chose to go for a clean water supply. Hint.. I did not buy property near a toxic waste heap, like Chicago.
