When it's $1.48/mile versus .48/mile why not aspire to be an o/o?

I own my truck, running under their authority.
When I drove their equipment, I was earning around $92-93k on w-2 with benefits. -
This seems like a darn good setup he's got there. Is the 146k as 1099 or W2? If 1099, what did he make after taxes?Ruthless Thanks this.
-
At 92-93k on W-2 it almost seems like it'd be worth it to just be an employee instead of a 1099.
Beverage as in tanker? Or beverage as in palletized van? -
Are you leased on to a company or running off the load boards?
-
Leased to a company. Have previously ran under my own numbers but reached a stage in life i no longer wanted the extra work load.
-
No comprende. Please clarify.

I was speaking in an over all average
There will always be dead markets like Miami or denver with a flat bed. they will never pay good coming out, but only a fool goes into those markets at a rate that won't average out to a good rate after bouncing back north.Paddlewagon, Tug Toy and Blu_Ogre Thank this. -
I currently am leased to a company. But in the past i had my own authority.Last edited: Mar 2, 2018

Out bound from the PNW to a reasonable freight market?? Out here we are in a seasonal slump.... Currently $2 per mile with a generic van would be a good load. Most that I see are a tad under. Which is why I go for the more specialized loads as in Haz and/or tanker to get out.
Your markets may vary........
