He is going to jail! I'm posting this so he can hear from others what is going to happen to him when he gets caught doing the following things. (I guess hearing it from me just isn't sinking in and he doesn't realize how serious this is?)

    One a daily basis he:
Runs 18 to 20 hrs give or take an hour (300 mi radius - home same day kinda thing)
Weighs anywhere between 85 to 100k with no permit. (highest weight to date 114k...no permit)
Has and does work 90+ hrs....IN 5 DAYS!
Runs past or around every single weight station on the hwy.
Refuses to buy a Bluetooth device in lue of the new regs

This list goes on and I'm but I think you guys have enough ammo to give him a piece of your mind! Although he is a very good friend I feel he needs to find another profession if he feels it necessary to run like this. Of course I get the same ole "there is nothing else out there" response from him. BTW- he's been driving for 6 yrs like this! Amazing he hasn't been thrown under the jail yet! Anyway, the point of this post is to have you guys let him know what's up. At this point he sees me as doing nothing more then ########...maybe a reality check from an entire forum will knock some sense into him!?!?

Tell him to put the crack pipe down and get a life. There is more to life than working all the time.

There are ones that slip through the cracks. But his day is coming. He might think he's slick. All it takes is someone elses fault and you're exposed.

We all have a dumb friend. :)

Is he an O/O or does he run for a company???? I see this alot with O/O but not so much when running with a company. Don't worry though as his time will come and he will be without a job either way.

MR DOT will see him running downt he road with his phone to his head and pull him over and the fines will be huge once they get done with him. He is looking at a 2700 dollar fine or possibly an 11,000 dollar fine if he is his own company, just for the cell phone deal. Then add the HOS violations and over weight and permit violations. I see a big check being written if he gets caught.

But I know many guys that do stupid stuff. If their are their own company then I just laugh at them. The ones on our company that do it get a ### chewing at the very least. I also contact our boss and narc them out because when they get caught it effects the company I work for and screws up our safety rating which means I end up getting pulled over and DOTed due to our screwed safety rating.

Sounds like the first 3 jobs I had in Trucking some 20 years ago. Back then it was common hauling fuel and oil to run like that, all except for the 114k part. Thats pretty light, I wouldn't even blink til I hit 130,000lbs.

No joke true story. But that was back then, now it's just a metter of time til the big pinch.

if you been driving long enough that was the norm back then,we all did it,oh and we weren't forced like you drivers talk about today, now before the rule police chime in we had rules NO one enforced them.we were safe, respected, looked up to.like i've said before its a circus out there and most drivers are clowns
