Speed limiters is a 100% thing. I see no reason a driver should be going faster then 72.

Debating cpm is about as silly as lease operators having a percentage contest. It's got no merit when comparing even two similar trucking operations. They still have different customers and lanes.

The net pay is what matters, no matter how you get to it.

Why not? I work for .25 on average.

But then again, I pay myself ;) The rest stays in the business account.

Oh that's true but if I'm not making 70k+ a year as company driver I don't want it lol. I worked at Tyson and made 75k with great benefits.

Pay him 30 percent of whatever you want.
This is how the percentage scam works.

    Your load pays 3000.
30 percent of 3000 is 900 bucks to the driver right.
Only if you want it to be.

    Your load pays 3000.
You put 500 in your pocket right off of the top.
Then you pay the driver 30 percent of 2500.
    Which is 750 bucks.

He has no idea what the load pays anyway.
    Only what you tell him.
It's almost as good as leasing a truck.

If he wants to see something as proof,
You put that printer to work in your office.
You can make any piece of paper say
    anything you want it too.
Most never bother to ask. They trust you.

That was explained to me by someone
Who owned 25 trucks and made a fortune
    Doing it.
i would never work for percentage.

That ought to get some of these super truckers
Who think everybody is honest and trustworthy
    All riled up.

    Speed limiter?
1027181739.jpg I'm a company driver and my speed is governed by the license in my back pocket because my boss actually trusts me

Doesn't rile me up at all. It's a shame so many fleet owners do it and get away with it.

Fact is there is no paper involved in rate confirmations and invoices any more, for the most part. I don't have any problem showing the whole transaction if they want, all the way to the bank deposit on the invoice with a copy of the check on it. But I have heard plenty of stories like yours too, so I get it. Trust goes both ways for what it's worth.

Good for you. What's even better is how that looks to the State Police and injured/dead people's legal teams when you're doing your thing safely, obeying the law, and some fool involves you in their mishap. Your boss can trust you to the end of the world. To the uninformed people investigating a crash that wasn't your fault, and maybe on a jury, having a truck set up like that just doesn't look good no matter how safe a driver you really are.

@RedForeman point well taKen. Honestly if I ever see the high side of 68 its because I'm on the down slope of a hill and the engine brake hasn't kicked in yet, my cruise is normally set in the 64 to 66 range just to keep me out of the herd
