When sliding tandems, why does air pressure have to be at 120+ before pulling red valve?

Aha! I think I got it.
You edited post #37 AFTER I looked at it.
In diagram A, air is flowing from the tractor to (iii.) prevent the tandem valve from being operated.
So when there is air in the red line, the air will push the tandem button back out if the tandem button is pushed in; correct?
I think I finally understand this. -
This is what I wrote in post #32:
I think that what I wrote in post #32 is correct. -
Even if your tanks hit 120psi if the air bags on the trailer are still inflating it means the trailer needs to finish airing up.gentleroger and expedite_it Thank this.

Yes, if you listen when you push the button in after you have the wheels where you want them, you can hear the air hissing out.
-
When i push the tandem button, that lets the air out. Then since the air is out, the air is no longer sucking in the tandem pins. Since the air is no longer sucking in thr tandem pins, the springs force the tandem pins out. Correct?

Depends on exact setup but in essence if not exactitude that should be fairly correctexpedite_it Thanks this.

And when i pull the tandem button (to get the pins in), the air that sucks the pins in comes directly from the air tank (not DIRECTLY from the truck); correct?
-
Yes but no. More or less thatll get you down the road but the precise part is more as follows
"when there is air in the red line, the air flow CANNOT go to the tandem pins. And when there is no air in the red line, the air flow goes to the tandem pins *provided you have the tandem button activated*."
The technicallygentleroger and expedite_it Thank this. -
Correct, as the truck is supplying no air to the trailer, but the tandem button is also an air system, the trailer tank is the only place it can come fromexpedite_it Thanks this.
