I have had a lot of people tell me it is in there but I can not find it anywhere in the green book:biggrin_2551: I was always taught that all laws were in the little green book:biggrin_2556: Still waiting to read the law:biggrin_25524:

Maybe I'll find it next year:biggrin_25517:

their was this one time i had to drive 40 miles to the nearest scale, and once i figured that it could not be axled out back to the shipper. positive side was the following morning the local grain scale was open and i was able to go 2 miles to axle out.

You won't find it because it's not in there. Somebody's full of it.

how the hell long have you been driving...??? reasonable, NO YOU WEREN'T.....i think you are a newbie, from what you are saying, and you quit too...??

good luck to you now....you've been DAC'd...in more ways than you can think right now.

air lift by helicopter (??), you made yourself a fool saying that.

your D/M said "run with it" as your company WOULD HAVE PAID the ticket.....God almighty man, do you realize just about EVERYONE HERE has done that...???

i just checked the california CDL manual which i must say is nearly word for word as all the other US States...i saw NOTHING that said you cannot drive the measly 4 miles to a scale to get weighed.....

in fact, it gives you (California) THE SAME 25 miles to check your load for proper securement of that load when you first start off your trip.

    http://dmv.ca.gov/pubs/comlhdbk/comlhdbk.pdf

look from pages 53,54,55, and 56.....show me please where it said you could NOT move that load...???

you screwed up, you denied your dispatchers suggestion, you quit your job, you've been DAC'd now, you haven't been a driver for too long, or YOU WOULD HAVE KNOWN YOU COULD HAVE WENT TO THE SCALES...for crying out loud.

you said that YOUR TRUCK was heavy haul permitted...???

you would have never worried about it...

all this happened last month..you working now...??

have a good time in your new career venture...you're toast...typical newbies.....

There's been more than one time the first scale I came to was a DOT scale...On heavy loads, with no scale at shipper, I just move tandems far forward until I can get to a scale and verify, seems to work very well, very infrequently do I need to readjust...

you did what you thought was right, it may not have been the best way of dealing with your concerns but you stuck to what you thought. Personaly i would have drove to the scale and weighed it, not much chance with getting in trouble for that. i wouldnt believe a company saying they would pay a fine for me though. right or wrong you stuck to your choice.

It's the same little green book that you can get in truck stops in Canada.
