Now you know I don't believe that! You may have a money tree (transplanted from Alberta) but in February in Ontario there is no fruit on it NOW !! :biggrin_2559:
But on a serious note, Me & others are still waiting for the regulation numbers?

Multiple pallets past your last axle? hmmmm!

I use to put the end of the last pallet about 1 hole past the back axle. I was usually within one hole then. To each his own. It still doesn't cure over gross.

Since I had a load pressure gauge, I can tell what my axle weight is and my gross is.

Only once in my career I had a problem, so you see it is very rare not to make it safely to a CatScale or other. So to quit over it??? Poor excuse to quit.

Anyways, three of us went to a customer. One way in and one way out across a little 58,000lb bridge. DOT was sitting at the bridge waiting for trucks to come out. We all refused to move until another trucker coming in told us he left. :)

All your rules are in 23 CFR Part 658. It says nothing of exceptions to scale out.

It's an unwritten rule, we know and DOT knows we have to scale out. It's a cheap shot piece of #### that would write you a ticket. If I questioned my weight and had a distance to travel to the first scale, I would be taking the scenic route.

He still has a maximum weight, but that's beside the point. You go scale out and don't scared. If everyone quit under them conditions, there would be no truckers, lol.

    Injun Thanks this.

Exactly! I guess some people only haul loads of dispatcher brains or sailboat fuel!

I owned a comnpany that ran lowbeds and I still have the Xcel spreadsheets of the S/N of the equip along with Make and Model etc. with the axle weights and the air guage readings. Worked great for us.

I'm on my phone so its hard for me to copy and paste. To find specific regulations allowing movement to scales you'll have to look at individual state statutes. I'll do more research and post some specifics if you like.
