I have 6 months as of today at Werner. I gotta move on. I cant take this place anymore. no money, lots of sitting time...

I was told I need to work through the 5th to count my full 6 months, the thing is, Werner sold my truck and I am now sitting in a terminal 4 hrs awway from home. I could call my wife today and have her her getting me home. I planned on waiting till the 7th to quit, but didnt anticipate them selling my truck. I have the new truck issued to me, but I havent moved out of the old one yet. I have some repairs needed on the new truck, I just hate to move all my crap over just for 2 days, drive it home, clean it out and then drive it all the way back.

what to do? move on now? go on leave and then quit when I get home? stick it out and then move on?? how will this affect my dac?

if it were me id pack my things put the new truck in the shop since there a things that need to be fixed call the wife have her on stand by to come and get you and then go tell them "im going to fulfill my 6 month obligation which is today and then im out of here. so do you want me to load the truck up and take it home or can we sit on our thumbs and run the clock out for today and ill get a ride home. up to you i dont care if i burn 80-90 gallons of your diesel going and then coming right back. up to you" thats just what i would do but if you do have everything lined up because when you pull that trigger they may not let you stay very long

figured it out. Called the wife. She is leaving at 6 pm to get me. I am going to clean this truck out, and get home. She wont be able to get here til 10 pm. My day dispatch has written me off for the day anyway since it is past 3pm.

My truck wont be ready today anyway.

I cant give notice to Werner, they wont let anyone quit. I have heard horror stories about people doing the right thing by giving notice. They run you out to far away terminals then let you quit making you get yourself home. I am not taking that chance. I am at a terminal now, I see a way out.

Go home and do your home time. Call off sick for the next day and then call in and quit. They can't dock you damage on a truck you were never in as yet. Your other truck was already sold. You should be home free.
It is a shame that companies make you have to do crap like this just because they choose to " live on the slimy side of life." Good luck on your next venture

LOL! Or when YOU get ready to quit. Personally, I don't let those big company idiots intimidate me with their lame threats.
