The op has been lying and exaggerating since post one. Why should we believe it was the bank vs. the company? For that matter, the company could easily be the one lying.
When you are a victim of extortion....

although I know a few that have reused the lines but that doesn’t mean if I do it’s going to work out. -
The only part of this that seems unreasonable to me is that it’s winter and they had no sleeping bag or insulated coveralls to keep warm if they can’t run the engine.
The CC company didn’t think the guy was shady, you were trying to process a large payment remotely and I’m guessing that isn’t something you normally do.MadScientist, xlsdraw, jamespmack and 3 others Thank this. -
Every time I see this thread show up in "New Posts," I cannot help but thinking it was the repair driver who was extorted.

Service trucks stay busy. We all know that. We also know that night dispatch at a mega is about useless and scared to ever make any meaningful decisions. So, you have this dude stuck on the side of the road waiting for payment (if he doesn’t get payment, guess whose pockets this service charge comes out of?) and the driver acts unconcerned, and in fact, closes the curtains and goes to sleep. Driver had no concerns at all about the tech until when??? Now all of a sudden, driver goes into full diva mode, life is threatened, screaming extortion and angry because the mechanic doesn’t care. Why should the mechanic care when you were completely unconcerned about him? His disabling the truck would have been the same thing as if he had never been there. Still 20 degrees outside. Whose fault would it be about the cold then? Stop with the diva act.
“So Six, what would you do?”
If it were MY truck and I were locked out of my funds? Jeans, sweats, coat, toboggan, climb under 2 blankets worked at -25. If it weren’t my truck, I would have blown up night dispatch’s phone and when they give me that spill about no one there to make big decisions, yadda yadda and have to wait for the daytime crew yadda yadda, I would have told d them that is unacceptable and I know night dispatch has a person that they can call in an emergency. Someone with their own credit card.bryan21384, MadScientist, 4wayflashers and 10 others Thank this. -
Some people tend to be part of the problem, while others are usually part of the solution. It's not hard to tell which is which.

If I was stupid enough to drive for a company that was so broke they couldn't use a credit card to pay a mobile mechanic I would have called a cab or paid the tech to drop me off at the nearest hotel and abandoned their POS truck right where it was parked. No wonder it's hard to find good drivers. Who could work or live like this?
