When you sleep in a reefer, how loud is the noise?

Specifically Central Ref, where I'm thinking of going.

Is the driver's seat of a reefer more louder than other trucks? What about when you are sleeping in the bunk?

Driving down the road, you can't hardly hear a reefer running. Sometimes a low rumble as it cycles on, but not enough so you'd have to turn up the radio.
    As for sleeping?
A little bit louder, but the idling truck next to you is much louder.
If you're too sensitive, wear ear plugs

Depending on how light of a sleeper you are, it may end up being a pain in the keester. I quit my first company which was reefer because i just couldnt' get used to it. So now, I won't even consider a reefer company. The other bad thing about reefer companies are the grocery warehouses They, more times than not, are a real PITA.

On the other hand, reefer work is typically a steadier job with fewer periods of low freight.

also depends on the age of your reefer--the older the louder--a newer model you hardly notice--but a 20 yr old one sounds like a frieght train back there---but still you get used to it

You couldn't get used to the noise, right? not anything else about a reefer? Does the bed shake?

Yep, older reefer's suck. I always get an ice cream load when I get one too.
The newer ThermoKings you can hardly hear. They are much better than a Carrier. TK always brings a smile when I drop/hook.
Most of the time you'll be idling or have an APU on. The noise drowns each other out. You''ll get use to it. I always sleep with the TV on anyways.

When I delivered to McD's stores, I did a 3 day Wyo. run, I would spend the night at my first stop. I'd drop the trailer next to the store (in the unloading location) and move my tractor across the parking lot to sleep. 3rd time they put a stop to that after I left indents on the parking lot.
