Gotta be Star truck palza out in Bowie, TX. Nice restaurant and lots of parking for its size. Typically decent fuel prices and they accept most fuel cards. Stopped there once on my way down to DFW, everytime I was heading south on 287, from then on in, Star was/is a must stop. Brisket and okra that's pretty ###### good for a truck stop.

Always liked the flying hook in Effingham, IL. Always managed to find parking there and for a TS- it's pretty quiet.

Bosselemans in Grand Island is another favorite, spent a lot of time sitting bobtailed waiting on meat loads there.

The northern Marathon in Laredo (very small TS, like 10 parking spots) will always hold a special place with me. It's in a terrible neighborhood, and almost no one speaks english (very well, atleast.)
I stopped here after I delivered my first ever load, solo. Had to sit here for three days trying to get a back-haul up north. Food is good, roasted half chickens and typical Mexican fare. Very memorable to me- sitting in the back of a POS '09 Cascadia, happy/nervous/excited, watching Netflix on my iPad with almost literally nothing in the truck. Bed didn't even have sheets on it yet.
The load right after that, I got my dolly legs hung up on the ground in Evergreen, AL in a residential neighborhood after a wrong turn and had to have a wrecker pull me off.

    Ah good times :yes2557:

He was referring to the dried on, bodily fluids, plastered on the walls.

Didn't know Rambo had anything to do with prison-style sodomy.

You can't just take a joke, you've gotta make it personal at every turn. You're the worst kind of super trucker.

That would be nice---since most(latest owners painted over some)of the walls are a veritable who's who--of trucking history--I'd love to know what happened to the old display case--&corkboards--Must have been 100 or so Ertl trucks in that case--&even more uniform patches on the boards....

Can't remember the name but, it was on old US 522 just after you crossed the river in to W. Virginia before you get to Berkely Springs. Old diner with tons of old trucking company signs on the walls.

Hate hearing about Louises, loved the Russian waitresses!!!
