I'll have my lisence in a few weeks and I'm looking for companies that can give me a regional route off on the weekends with no experience. I live in florida specifically Gainesville area. I was looking at Schneider and the only regional they had was a tanker position, which I don't think would be a good idea starting out. Any of yall know anyone thaf could give me a regional route or a dedicated thats off on the weekends. Thanks.

Why wouldn't Schneider tanker be a good idea starting out? 100's of new drivers do it every year. It's a high paying position and Schneider wouldn't be offering it if it wasn't generating high profits and big paychecks for the drivers.

You drive slower it’s not that hard...

People on here make the simplest things seem like rocket science or the most dangerous things in the world.

Drive slower into corners and don’t stomp the brakes and gas if it’s a smooth bore unless you wanna get shaken around.

Sounds better than being a pier rat to me...

Tanker companies have a rigid orientation for new tanker drivers. You'll be fine as long as you can pass a hair follicle drug test. I think all tanker outfits do that and Schneider does it for all their divisions; tanker, dry van, refrigerated, etc.

Florida isn't exactly hilly. You will be OK.

Slow down earlier, maintain a larger stopping distance between vechiles and take corners slower. Other than that same as pulling your camper/boat/landscape trailer.

    Drive gently with a tanker.

Never mind that "coffee cup on the floor"or "ping pong ball on the dash" malarkey.

If you're doing it wrong, the load will let you know.
