Once again, read manufacturer recommendation on cable size. It's pretty much always 4 gauge. If your inverter is larger then 1,500 they have dual battery input with 2 sets of cables and still 4 gauge wire.

Yeah. Some people don't understand we are dealing with high current which is the key ingredient to starting a fire. There should be some sort of fuse or breaker near the source. Nothing is as simple as is may seem. Especially when you are dealing with safety.
But yeah, I'll buy the inverter, check the directions, and if not comfortable, I'll take it to a professional.

I'd go to a stereo installation shop if you don't do it yourself. Gaurantee it would be much cheaper than a truck dealer or truckstop. Someone just mentioned that idea in a Schneider thread.
