Boomers in Tulsa quoted about $250. Had to make an appointment though. Dealer quoted about $400.

If you work for a company?
They may do it for Free or not charge a whole lot. -
It is fairly easy, but depending on the connectors on the inverter it can be a hassle putting ends on the cables if you don't have the tools or haven't done it before. You'll also want a circuit breaker. There's a whole thread here about it somewhere, but the shorter the cables (distance from inverter to batteries) and the lower the gauge the better. Especially if your APU has a small amp alternator, you're going to want to minimize your power loss. -

EXACTLY!
I want this to be safe, efficient, neat, and permanent. One needs to be smart enough to know when they don't know.
To do anything right, there is always more than initially meet the eye. Breaker, routing, securement etc.
Yeah. I can do it half arse. But that's just not me.
Flying J sells 4 gauge cables with connectors in place. They are about 6' long. That limits the inverter placement options. I also need to find the best place to ground the unit and where I will enter the sleeper.
One thing at a time. Thanks to ya all. -
Better to mount the inverter under the bunk out of the way then run a power strip to some place easy to get to.
-
That's a good idea. But, wouldn't I have to keep opening the bunk to turn it on and off?
-
If you get the cobra models there is an optional remote that you can get off Amazon for around $20
Hegemeister Thanks this. -
You don't have to shut the inverter off.
