My friend has a CDL driving test the end of August but can't find a place to rent without being part of a company. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks!
Where can I rent a class a truck in Tennessee for CDL test?

Penske or Ryder. You can also ask the place giving you the test.

Sometimes a tractor/trailer training school may let you use theyre truck to take a test. Thats what I did @ $125. a test. If you dont pass, $125 again.

Back in the day, I hung out at the testing station with cash and cut a deal with a driver who was there taking a test. I had talked to the person running the road tests and they were cool with letting me jump to the front of the line once I had a truck lined up. (Front of the line it meant I had to make the deal with someone who came in behind me.)
Good luck. -
There are a few of those companies around, I know here in Arizona there is one that does just that, they rent the vehicle and they also do some training to help you pass it.

I'm not just making this up. The last time this question came up. I asked our leaser what the requirements were.. and its just not possible to just walk in to a leaser and drive out in a truck. -
Um yes, I know that is true. Read my post again. I doubt they will follow you in their car to see if you take it to a driving course. Like I said my school was also used for CDL tests for anyone in the state so almost every day people brought Penske and Ryder trucks for testing. In life sometimes you have to bend stupid rules. Most rules are only there to keep you down. I have a feeling you won't understand this though.
