Walmart will have the trailer towed and it'll cost you a few thousand to get it back.
Most Walmarts now won't even let Walmart trucks park on their property.
Where can you drop a trailer and leave it?

best way to do that would be at the customers if it is possible (love fedex for this). that is when you would able to run around for a bit (stock up foods and such) before the next load

12 years in this business and I NEVER dropped a trailer midway thru my trips. Never. Too risky. Not very responsible. Trip planning should make it not necessary in any scenario.

Drop it at a TS & get permission at the desk at the J or loves etc
If you’re empty it’s ok, loaded? I wouldn’t. You have 50,000-$800,000k worth of stuff in there.
If you can delay your hook and leave it at the customer and do your errands -
Another thing to think about...how does your company feel about you using the tractor to run around in? They might not like it much if you're using the tractor for sight-seeing trips.
Also, if the tractor is being used for your personal transport and not on company business the insurance company might have a gripe if you get into an accident.
Rent a car or take Uber instead.Swiss Mountain Dog, 88 Alpha, misterG and 1 other person Thank this. -
This post reminded me of something I saw yesterday in Williamsburg Va. A friend and I were there yesterday and I noticed a USA Truck parked in a parking lot about 100 feet away and clearly could be seen Commercial Vehicle parking prohibited. Tow away. Either that driver is acting a bit stupid or they don't enforce those signs.

That's a recommended guideline, not a regulation and the states can reject it.

Better get to know your company policy on dropping trailer. Most wont let you. Putting yourself in a bad fix if trl gets stolen or towedmisterG Thanks this.

That’s called personal conveyance and if not empty you must drop trailer.
-
The rules have changed. You can now use personal conveyance loaded.
