Hey there,
I have been looking at getting into the trucking industry. I don't have much money though so I have been looking at paid CDL training.
My questions to you guys are:
- Can you recommend any paid CDL companies or schools?
- What is the best way to get started?
- Which companies are best for brand new people?
I've seen that swift is not recommended at all on here.
I would very much appreciate any direction that you guys can give me.
Thank you for your help.
Where do i get started??

Well I'm going with Driver Solutions which is affiliated with PAM and USA Trucks. When you apply they will give you a time to call your area agent and then she'll explain the position, then ask if that sounds good she then gives you a chance to think about it before you make a decision. Now the kicker it's not really free it actually cost $5995 but if you sign a year contract with whatever company hires you they will deduct $45 dollars each paycheck which will equal out to $1980 they keep $1495 and give you the remaining balance of $485 but there is no upfront cost which is good if your broke. If you break the contract you will pay the full amount but that's with any company sponsored training. Good Luck on your next move.

I am not sure about PAM but there are several post on here, USA fired drivers and dispatchers without warning. Supposedly there are not taking any student drivers. I would check with theses companies before signing on the dotted line. Many companies have hiring freezes.
Good Luck!!!! -
USA is hiring I just talk to a guy that leaves tomorrow for school and he hired on with them.
