Where do I go to find steady work as a lumper?

    That would be a really smart approach. Call the major reefer outfits and be an on call lumper. You might not make a ton of money, but if you build a reputation you might? A CB and cruising the major truckstops would probably be your best bet though.

    If the factory allows it...Ive seen 2or3 lumpers hang out at the gate and UNDER bid the factory for unloading. Their fast and careful and you can stand right there and watchem(if the factories insurance allows it). After their done, they go right back to their van or whatever and eat or get warm then start the process all over again. They love it cause its all under the table(sshhhh).:biggrin_25524:
    Most I ever seen a lumper smile about at the end of the day was $450 before he headed home. He made it clear to everyone by showing us "the wad". Point to be made, his 2 other cohorts made the same and the O/O's left very happy they saved bucks.
