    Afternoon everyone

I'm new to the industry, and I'm just trying to get an idea of where everyone goes for on the web, trucking wise? Obviously, everyone comes to this site. But are there other good web communities out there? (Good blogs and what not.)

And where does everyone go for trucking jobs? Are there some websites that are better than others? Or do people prefer publications and which ones do they use? What do you like/dislike about these sites and pubs? Are there better sites for loads or parts for your truck?

I appreciate the help everyone. An early thanks from the new guy.

best thing to do is "google" searches for "trucking web sites", or "trucking jobs", or "trucking message boards", get it..? google certain words/phrases and a plethura of sites will pop up.

I never got much response from those "apply here for hundreds of trucking jobs" sites. It always seems better to go to each companies website and fill out their application. Usually get a phone call the next day.

We have another site for truckers called: Trucker Spaces for blogs, etc...its kind of like MySpace, but for geared towards truckers.

You have hit on one of the better sites for new people to come in and ask questions. There are some other sites out there, and some of them can be quite useful, but many of the posters on those sites have limited patience for someone new asking questions. If you go to a good many sites, I highly recommend that you take some time, lurk a bit, and get a feel for how the site operates and how things get handled. It's quite easy as a new poster on some sites to get your head handed to you after asking a question or making a comment.

    dejo51 Thanks this.

My favorite forum bit the dust several months ago. Apparently, the small donations from her administrators and others was not enough to keep it afloat. If a site does not generate enough hits on their advertisers, it will die. That site had the best organization and it was easier to navigate than any site I have seen. We followed the diaries of several newbies from truck driving school to solo OTR.

Another active site is Of course, the object is to post photos, but the forum is active with participants from around the world. There are some teenagers and many active drivers. I have learned so much from these people.
