Yeah I left the shop a few years ago and when I did the oil distributer was screwing my brother over on pricing. (I did all of the purchasing before I left). When I came back I started buying out the store and from different places (for 5 gallon gear fluids). Suddenly he was able to adjust pricing and stop delivery charges. I still buy Mobil out of Wal-Mart and Sams because we don't have a local distributer.
Where do you buy oil?

Rural King for me. It's a farm chain that has started popping up in my area in the last few years. Better prices than I've seen anywhere else but I haven't bought any lately to give an exact price.
They have a house brand called Providence, both dino and semi-synth that are pretty cheap, made by Kendall I'm told. -
walmart they drop it off at the door
JoeyJunk Thanks this. -
Rural King used to always stock 55 gallon drums of Rotella 15/40, but anymore they don’t nearly always have them. They do run some killer deals on 5 gallon buckets periodically, I walked out with 16 buckets last Black Friday… the only thing I went shopping for lol

I’m another sams club or walmart fan. I have tried 55 gallon drums. It’s more mess than it’s worth to me. Now someone with a more disciplined mentality it is probably a good thing. But rounding up clean jugs then making sure it’s 100 percent off. Then the tilting process to get the last of it out. I leave my savings plus on the floor every time

Several weeks ago I went to Walmart for oil, and I could get 2 of the 2.5 gal jugs for several dollars cheaper than a 5 gallon pail. What a no brained! There nicer to hold when you’re standing on a tire anyway!

I know you are all gonna think I’m crazy but have you noticed that some of the oil in the drums from Walmart/Costco smell differently from normal Shell smell. It is very noticeable. Makes you wonder if it is just branded shell from a different distributor meeting shell standards. I can tell you what my Schaeffer’s rep told me. They are blending oil for Shell to sell in some markets.
