If you're doing it yourself, get a good angle grinder 2500-3000 rpm max (I've had luck with Dewalt - and variable speed settings via a wheel on the handle is even better), green and white rouge from Iowa80 - you can get buffer wheels pretty much anywhere, but watch the metal centers like the ones sold at T/A, aggressive side load will pop them out - nothing worse than a metal edge spinning at 3k on your nice Alcoa's to ruin your day.. Yellow to cut with the green stick, white to polish with the white stick. (I've used a blue stick on both aluminum and ss, depending on the makeup of the aluminum). I've had success "sealing the polish" with insulator wax or Meguiar's cleaner wax. It does cut down on the nice deep shine a little, but it'll extend your polish job a little longer. Or, if they're still doing it, the crew beside Little Sister's in Barstow really can't be beat. Forget Never Dull for exterior, but it does work well for chrome/ss dash pieces.

We usually do trucks in the spring and fall, the last one that we had done last sept, didn't look that great, have not had a "spring" truck done yet.

Used to be an outfit called "Babe and Sals" down on I-10 near Casa Grande,Az.Don't know if they're still there. They were across the street from where the old 76 Truckstop used to be before they tore it down.Always did a decent job, reasonable. When times were tight,$5.00 a wheel,$10. a tank.Always stopped whenever I ran the southern route.

Iceman worked out at rip griffins, exit 103, for a few years. he moved into town at the old Truck stop on 17 and sold his polish for $10. a bottle

That stuff was the best i ever came across. Left a real pretty bluish sparkly show room shine.

Think the guys down near casa grande were using it for a while.

    they did good work.

A fairly cute young lady once asked me if a I needed my rims polished in truck stop parking lot. I was a little confused since she had neither rag nor bucket.

Was talking to a driver from my company last night and he said there's a guy doing it at the 288 off I-40 in TN. At the truck wash there.

I would just go to advance auto parts and get a bottle of white diamond liquid polish. You can use it without washing the wheels and tanks, and it takes about five to ten minutes per wheel. I use it to polish my Volvo about twice a year. If your aluminum is streaked from acid, get blue beacon to flash it, then it makes polishing easier starting off.
