I use the magnetic mount disc attached to a two inch "L" bracket mounted to the cowl below the windshield with two sided tape. Works great. Had one of the tall antenaes once. Mounted to the bird perch mirror mount bar on my Cascadia until some moron backed into my truck one night at a truck stop, hit my mirror, broke the bar and took off. After that, I just stuck that antenna, with the broken bar still attached, in the cowl under the hood and it worked just fine.
Where do you have your satellite radio antenna installed?

I have an old suction cup mount. Took it apart and bolted the upright XM antenna to it. Stuck the suction cup on the upper inside of the driver side cab extender so the antenna sticks up above the cascadia roof line. I measured to ensure its just under 13'6". Then the cab never blocks the signal. I put a couple zip ties on the mount to keep it from banging around if the suction cup comes unstuck. Works good so far. I'll have to figure out how to post pics soon.

Using Factory bolts on the rear of the cab take a flat strip of sheet metal and bend it into an L shape. And mount your antenna so it is above the roof line and you should be good to go. Something along the lines of this.
Pretend it's a satellite antenna instead of a cellular antenna and I'm sure you'll get the picture -
[I know this is an old thread. Bill Smith recommended the Volvo mount. BUt Volvo is 5/16ths and the Cascadia is metric???

I was using the Big Rig antennae shaped like a tom tom mounted on the passenger side mirror support. Then I had trouble when I bought a new receiver. My old unit was a Delphi MiFI that I had for about eight years. When It gave up the ghost I stopped at the first Best Buy on my route and bought a new Onyx Plus. (Nearly half the price of truck stop prices) Then I discovered that the antennae cable did not fit the connection properly, it fits rather loosely causing the signal to cut out.
I dug out a xm car antennae which has an L shaped connector. It still fits loose but with a rubber band I can make a secure connection. Then I tapped the little walnut sized antennae to the top of my currently redundant big rig antenna. It works, As every driver knows the job teaches you jury rigging.scottied67 Thanks this.
